I first met Sean in 2007 at Apogee. Sean was the Industrial Designer and Head of Marketing at the time. Sean has a rare balance of generating artistic flare along with making a product practical and simple mechanically. He keeps an open mind to materials and processes to manufacture a product, and works great as a team player in optimizing the entire product. He has a great aptitude to starting concepts in the ID tools, and helping translate that to concise 3D modeling. Sean has a great basis of die casting, injection molding, sheet metal, painting and plating options, and artwork/labeling. He also has worked on small hand held products, up to full 3RU/19 inch rack products. I highly recommend Sean as a product designer.
Sean was an absolute pleasure to work with. His feel for User Experience and sharp eye for Graphic Design were a pleasure to implement and helped to create an end product that we could all be proud of. His attention to detail in the design files saved tons of dev time. I’ve yet to receive graphic designs that were as complete and thoughtful. Perhaps even more important is his even keel demeanor – even when the seas get choppy. Sean is always up for collaborating on ideas and helping the team reach a consensus that meet all the requirements. Any organization would be lucky to have him and I can’t wait until we get the opportunity to work together again.
I’ve had the good fortune of working with Sean for almost a decade and in that time I’ve benefited greatly from his guidance and leadership. Sean is able to see the big picture while at the same time getting his hands dirty and involving himself in any project that requires his attention. I’ve observed Sean, time and time again, effortlessly be the voice of reason and keep the team on track for success. It’s this focus that makes him not just a great leader but a fantastic designer as well. You find evidence of Sean’s attention to detail throughout his product design, development, and marketing. His personality and calm demeanor inspire those around him.
I have learned a great deal from Sean over the years and I credit him for my continued development as a professional.
